We, the Southern Illinois Association of Priests, wish to join our own
American bishops and other organizations and churches, who have called
the termination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy
and other immigration protections by President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions as mean and deceitful. We join with Pope Francis in his declaration that DACA is a “Pro Life Issue.” We are grateful that the American Bishops have taken such a strong stand on this issue and the promotion of the overhaul of the entire US immigration policy.
